Thanks so much, I have been stripping it down. But yes I am an artist and a photographer. I want to make a career out of my art though and just do photography as a hobby. Although would not deny a job if that made sense?

makes perfect sense, I wish sometimes that art wasnt my job.

I see, I have heard a lot of creative people say that though, since well apparently merging something you love so much with work isn't always what you would think.

Personally I still want to go for it though.

i think that its not so much that its bad to do your passion for work.. i think its just the fact that our necessity to work in general, turns it into a situation of desperation where, for some time, you may be doing something so close to what you really want to be doing, but not quite... because you have to take your income where its best. I use to do graphic design, but I hated it. I made a lot more money per hour but I HATED hated it, and it was almost worse that it was close to art that I wanted to do but not really .... it just drove me crazy, I'd rather change tires (which I have done before) or do something TOTALLY different than to do something i hate that is close to drawing but not drawing. if that makes any sense.
I do think if you want to do your art for a job, go for it! many people do not have the discipline and cannot separate their ego from the work so they can succeed.

Well to be fair I don't really think I have much of an ego when it comes to my art, since well I am not a user that gets lots of people telling me how amazing I am. Plus I know that I will have to try and make it from more than one source. Like at the moment my health is too bad for me to take commissions, so I don't. However currently I have an Etsy shop and a Patreon.

I also recently sold an old piece of art for a very reasonable about of money. I would love to start doing more conventions since I do seem to do well at those. Then I know as my health improves I would need to do more. However honestly I would be happy doing so many art related things. Like really overly demanding people can really make it hard sometimes, however when people are reasonable with you it is not so bad.

yes it seems like youre more of a fine artist. this is my goal - to do what I want and sell it. I found that in the past, my income was few and far between doing it that way though.

i hope your health gets better!

I am not a "fine artist" in terms of genre I am a lot more cartoonish than that. I do have a lot of trouble with that the money can be good when you do get it, it is just getting it.

Thanks so much me too!
