Seishou To-ku BG by Karla-Chan Seishou To-ku BG by Karla-Chan
The character art has been done with Letraset Promarkers and Tria markers, the background has been done with textures and brushes using photoshop.

I plan to enter this for the :iconloveocs: group, cause they are having a fantasy themed contest. I figured this character because i knew i was going to finish it soon, there for knew i would have time to enter. And the contest is not allowed to have humans in, and since she is a Deva (Dungeons and Dragons race that are angles in a humanoid body) i thought it would be a nice fit.

Well here she is with a background, i went for much lighter colours for this to make the whole thing seem that little less intense. Plus i wanted it too look nature/spirit ish because she is a shaman and likes to be at one with nature and the spirit world.

Not had a chance to play with the character, due to being snowed in. And i am trying to stop making new characters because i am sick of not being able to play many when the get past 5th. I have been lucky and when i have had a chance to get out (Not done so in the past week though ^^; ) I have been able to play the 4-7 level adventures.

Thanks, i thought it would be more colourful then a lot of people though, i did plan for it to be lighter but oart way though, i thought what the hell and went crazy with it. I still stuck to my normal rules when colouring though.

Well i always pick colours that can be made from one of the primary colours i have used 2 at most. So in this cause it may not seem that purple and orange would go, but they are both made from red. So when i am colour i try and keep the the colours that can be made from the colours i have used.

purple red orange are analogus colors like a piece of the pie of a color wheel. so they match.

Look it up it's hard to explain, it has to do with color theory " a chunk of colors".

Oo, she's interesting, isn't she? I really like her clothes (although they seem like they'd be a little hard to get around in :giggle: )

I'm really proud of the detail of her clothing :D
Must have taken forever, love the shading and colour

I also like the style of the staff (I say staff because she's a shaman, please correct me if I'm wrong)

She is a shaman, that is why it has a spear head because they can use spears as well :) and i love to add detail to my work, i do feel it makes a picture more yours if you have a lot of detail, the skecth took me a little over 2 days, it took me a day to ink then just over a day to colour.

So a little bit more then normal, but i really like her outfit too, she is blind so i figured she would wear kind of crazy things because she can't properly see what she is putting on, she sees what the spirits show her. :)

Thanks so much for your comment though :D

Thanks so much, i do tend to throw my self into my art, i love detail and do like to think about things. And i don't watch TV so i think that means it hasn't rotted my imagination so much ;) :P (joke).

but thanks so much you comment is very flattering, i do like to think i show imagination in my work :)

It is a race in D&D they are like angles sort of ^^ and i am happy you like it, i was worried about the colour scheme because these are colours i wouldn't normally use, i still followed the same rules i would normally follow when picking colours, so i thought in theory they go ^^

Thanks though :D

Aye. I know what an Astral Deva is - my boyfriend has played two, using an altered HD progression(there's one in 3.0 Savage Species, but we play 3.5).

The colors turned out great. =)

Oh okies i see, i know some people i speak to on here have a very good idea what i am talking about, but i have a lot of watchers that have no idea what they are, so i tend to explain out of habit. :)

And that is cool :) I have not played 3.0 but i have played 3.5 i do very much like 4th ed though :)

I doubt I'll ever play 4th, personally, but a lot of people seem to like it, so good for them.

I might get some of the books for the pictures though. I love the art in D&D books.

It's my first one who is, actually. I figure she still "sees" but the spirits show her what she sees so it is a little different to normal. I do try my best on details. I am happy you like it ^^
