The red string of fate, also referred to as the red thread of destiny, red thread of fate is an East Asian belief originating from Chinese legend and is also used in Japanese legend. The myth says that the gods tie an invisible red string around the little finger (in Japanese Mythology) the people who are connected by the red thread are destined lovers, regardless of time, place, or circumstances. This magical cord may stretch or tangle, but never break. It is like the concept of a soul mate. I think I also read that once the two people meet they can never leave each other because they become tangled together.
I thought this concept would be really cool for these characters because Ico (my D&D character) worships Lolth in her Eladrin (high elf) form as the Goddess of Fate and Destiny. Who has the colours red and purple linked to her domain and I pretty much decided for these two to be together Ophelia would also worship the same Goddess, but probably as her Drow for Lolth. Although Lolth's colours are red and black.
I was hoping to cover them a little with the ribbons, but that just didn't happen and thicker ribbon would not have been about to be tied round their little fingers. Also I am so happy these two girls have magnetic hands other wise this would have been really tricky to pull off.
I agree most BJDs do have really nice bodies.
